Chance of the Heart (Chance of the Heart #1)Chance of the Heart by Kade Boehme

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3-3.5 stars

Very sweet little cowboy story about two old childhood friends meeting again and becoming a couple.

Chance Beckett is living his life in a small Texas town. Managing his daddy’s ranch, engaged to his childhood sweetheart and in general just going with the flow and doing what is expected of him, until his girlfriend calls for a break, and a spur of the moment night out in a larger town re-unites him with his Childhood crush Bradley Heart.

Bradley left their small Texas town, when he was 19, after his reverend father did not take too well to his coming out. When he meets Chance he is having a bad day, having been laid off and having trouble with his ex. A one night stand between the two turns out great, but when Bradley awakes, Chance has sneaked out.

Fate and Bradley’s sister intervenes and gets him a job working as an accountant for his fathers church and the two meet again, this time on Chance’s home soil. But Chance is still closeted, still has a girlfriend and is still expected to marry, have kids and take over his daddy’s ranch.

This was an enjoyable story, which unfortunately still needed some editing, but not so bad that you got pulled out of the story. Recommendable and I will be reading the companion short story.
